Description

WP Custom Avatar – This light plugin adds the capability to change the default Avatar in your website. This is usually displayed when a person without a gravatar comments on your blog.
1. Configure the plugin by going to Appearance > Customize menu that appears in your admin menu.
2. Upload the Custom Avatar image in the WP Custom Avatar section.
3. Navigate to Settings > Discussion menu. Scroll down to the Avatars section and choose the image that you uploaded as the Default Avatar.

Licence

This plugin is released under the GPL, you can use it free of charge on your personal or commercial blog.

Installation

  1. Download the plugin and unzip it.
  2. Upload the folder wp-custom-avatar to your /wp-content/plugins/ folder.
  3. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
  4. Check FAQ section for plugin configuration information.

FAQ

How do I configure the plugin?

  1. Configure the plugin by going to Appearance > Customize menu that appears in your admin menu.
  2. Upload the Custom Avatar image in the WP Custom Avatar section.
  3. Hit Publish to save the changes. Close the Customiser after that.
  4. Navigate to Settings > Discussion menu. Scroll down to the Avatars section and choose the image that you uploaded as the Default Avatar.

Why am I unable to view the Custom Avatar?

Make sure the Show Avatars checkbox is checked in the Avatar Display section in Discussion Settings page.

The other custom WP avatar plugins I tried all introduced issues around styling, but this one worked fine out of the box and didn't introduce any new issues.

Just what I wanted, don't know why more poeple aren't using this quality plugin! However, instructions were hard to find! To author: please add your instructions (below text) here on the plugin page installation notes section, so users don't need to search for them in the plugin folder! ================= 1.
