If you create a gift card at 900$, for example, and the product costs 500$. The balance is at 400$ but the gift card cannot be used a second time...
Error code : Gift card does not exist
EDIT :
It looks that you need to publish again your gift card after it's used. Weird

You can add gift cards as products; a user can add it to their cart and check out; but the gift card is never generated... So, worthless so far.
