## Description

Your WordPress dashboard shouldn’t feel like Times Square.

**Dashboard Detox** removes the noise — stopping marketing messages, “rate this
plugin” nags, upgrade prompts, sales banners, Black Friday ads, and countless popup
notices that keep interrupting your workflow.

It works **automatically**, with **no setup needed**, and includes a lightweight
optional settings page for power users.

Perfect for developers, agencies, and anyone who wants wp-admin to stay clean and
distraction-free.

### ✨ Features

 * Automatically hides:
    - Review nags (“Please rate us 5 stars!”)
    - Upgrade / Go Pro messages
    - Sales, discount and Black Friday banners
    - Newsletter signup popups
    - Promotional overlays
    - Persistent admin notices that reappear when closed
 * Smart and safe:
    - Attempts to avoid hiding core update or security notices
    - Uses keyword detection instead of blindly removing all notices
    - Lightweight inline script only
    - No front-end impact
    - No performance overhead

No setup required. Just activate and detox your dashboard.

### Need more control? Dashboard Detox Pro

The free version gives you a clean, quiet dashboard with zero configuration.
 If
you’d like more fine-grained control, [Dashboard Detox Pro](https://checkout.freemius.com/plugin/21788/plan/36360/)
adds a few extra tools:

 * Add custom “blocked keywords” to hide specific promos or campaigns.
 * Whitelist important notices by keyword so they are never hidden.
 * Turn on Debug Mode to highlight notices that would be hidden, instead of actually
   hiding them.
 * Ideal for agencies and developers managing lots of client sites.

### Free vs Pro

**Free version**

 * Automatically hides most common marketing, upsell, and review nags in the WordPress
   admin.
 * Lightweight, safe defaults — just activate and enjoy a calmer dashboard.
 * No configuration required.

**Dashboard Detox Pro**

 * Includes everything in the free version, plus:
 * Custom “blocked keywords” to target specific marketing phrases (e.g. “Black Friday”,“
   lifetime deal”).
 * Whitelist keywords to always show important notices.
 * Debug Mode to see what would be hidden without actually hiding it.
 * Priority for future enhancements.

## FAQ

### Does this hide core update notifications?

Dashboard Detox _tries very hard_ not to hide:
 – WordPress update alerts – Plugin/
theme update notifications – Security warnings

Only marketing and review-style notices are targeted.

### Will this break other plugins?

No. Notices are only hidden visually using JS/CSS.
 No plugin files or database
entries are modified.

### Do I need to configure anything?

No — the plugin works immediately with zero settings.

### Is there a Pro version?

Yes. Dashboard Detox Pro adds advanced controls for power users and agencies, including
custom blocked/whitelist keyword rules and a debug mode.

subscription here: https://checkout.freemius.com/plugin/21788/plan/36360/
