Here is what sets it apart: most bundle plugins lock every slot. BundleBoss is built around customer choice from the first click. The free plugin groups products into a “buy these together and save” pack and lets customers pick the size and colour of every unit, buying the lot as one cart line. What is free and what is Pro
The free plugin is the complete fixed-bundle product, not a demo and not a trial. You choose what goes in the bundle; your customer configures every unit of it and buys the lot as one cart line.
Free includes:

BundleBoss is built and updated by the people who answer its support, and the roadmap is written by real shop owners. If you need a bundle it does not handle yet, or an option you wish existed, ask for it on the support forum. Every request gets read and answered, and “can it do X?” is exactly how new features get chosen. You name it, and there is a real chance we build it.

Privacy
BundleBoss does not collect, store or transmit any personal data of its own.
- Customers’ bundle selections (which products, quantities and options they picked) are stored only as part of their cart and order: standard WooCommerce order data under your control, removed whenever you erase the order.
- Shareable build links encode product choices in the URL itself; nothing is stored server-side and the links contain no personal information.
- The plugin sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
Third-party services
The free version of BundleBoss does not connect to any external service or send any data off your site.
BundleBoss Pro is a separate, paid plugin that uses Freemius for checkout, licensing and updates. None of that is included in this free version.

Installation
- In your WordPress admin go to Plugins > Add New, search for BundleBoss, then install and activate it. WooCommerce needs to be installed and active.
- Go to Products > Create a bundle. The guided wizard takes you from picking products to a finished bundle page in a few minutes, with a live preview of what your customers will see.
- Prefer the full editor? Create a product and choose the Bundle product type: the products go on the Bundle Items tab, the deal (a percentage off, an amount off, or one fixed price) on Bundle Pricing, and extras like gift options or Buy X Get Y on Bundle Promotions.
- Publish and open the product page. The bundle is ready to sell, with live totals, per item options and stock checks built in.

How do I create product bundles in WooCommerce?

Can customers mix and match, or build their own box?

Yes. A build a box (mix and match) product lets customers fill a box from a pool you choose, with a target size, per-product limits, and a live count and total (any 6 chocolates, any 4 candles). That’s a Pro feature. On any bundle, customers also pick the size and colour of every item and buy the lot as one order.

Does it work with variable products?

Yes, that’s the core use case. Customers pick a variation for every unit, restricted to the options you allow per bundle item.

Can a bundle include virtual or downloadable products?

Yes. Virtual items (services, licence keys you fulfil yourself) just work. Downloadable items deliver their files like any normal purchase: permissions are granted when the order is paid, the customer gets the links in the order email and under My Account Downloads, and a refund cuts access automatically.

Does selling a bundle reduce the stock of the products inside it?

Yes. Component (and variation) stock is reduced when the bundle sells and restored if the order is cancelled or refunded. Stock is also validated during configuration, at add-to-cart, and again at checkout.

Can I set one fixed price for the bundle?

Yes. Each bundle can use a percentage discount off the sum of the chosen items, a set amount off, or a fixed price that never changes regardless of the customer’s choices.

Can I make the configurator match my store’s branding?

Yes. The configurator inherits your theme’s fonts automatically, and every colour it uses is exposed as a CSS variable. Set a handful of values in Appearance Customize Additional CSS and the whole interface follows your brand:

Can I show my own information next to the configurator (total weight, nutrition, performance)?

Yes. The configurator fires a JavaScript event,
bundle_boss:build_changed, after every change the customer makes. The event detail carries the whole build: which products and variations are picked, quantities, and the running totals. Does it work with the block (Gutenberg) cart and checkout?

Yes, both. The classic shortcode pages and the block-based Cart & Checkout are fully supported: bundle pricing, the selections summary, stock protection and order details all work identically, and the progress-to-discount nudge appears in the block cart too. Block themes (Full Site Editing) are also tested.

Is my data removed when I uninstall?

By default, no: bundle products and their configuration are deliberately kept, so reinstalling restores everything. If you want uninstalling to remove all bundles and settings, switch on “Delete all BundleBoss data when the plugin is uninstalled” under WooCommerce BundleBoss (download an export first, on the same page).

Can I back up my bundles or move them to another site?

Yes. WooCommerce BundleBoss exports every bundle (items, choice pools, rules, pricing and promotions) as one JSON file. Importing matches products by SKU, then slug, so the file survives the move to a site where product IDs differ; anything that can’t be matched is reported, never guessed.

Does it work on multilingual sites (WPML / Polylang)?

Yes. Bundle settings copy to translations, slot labels are translatable per language, and product/term references are mapped to the language being browsed.

5.5.2 – 2026-08-31
- New: BundleBoss speaks French, Brazilian Portuguese and Greek. Every free feature is translated, storefront and admin, with the wording calibrated to each language’s WooCommerce conventions: France and Canada get “Ajouter au panier” with proper French typography, Brazil gets “Adicionar ao carrinho” and the “monte seu box” vocabulary its build-a-box market actually uses, and the existing Greek translation grows from a partial set to full coverage. With Spanish and Italian already on board, that is seven locales in the box.
- New: a Bundle preview panel on the bundle editor. The Draft tab shows the bundle exactly as the form is set right now, before you save, main photo included, and follows your edits after a quiet moment. The Last saved tab shows the live page as shoppers see it. A Desktop and Phone switch covers both. Nothing is ever saved by previewing.
- Fixed: the cart tray heading mixed singular and plural in every translation (“Votre lots”). It now agrees properly in all seven locales.
- Fixed: bundle pages printed image tags with an empty address for variation photos not yet chosen, and browsers treat an empty address as a request for the page itself. The tags now carry no address until a photo is picked, so the page is no longer silently requested twice.
5.5.1 – 2026-08-31
- New: BundleBoss speaks Spanish. Every free feature is translated, storefront and admin, with the wording calibrated per region: Spain, Mexico and Colombia keep “Añadir al carrito” as their WooCommerce translations do, Argentina and Peru say “Agregar al carrito”. Your own bundle word (say, “Conjunto”) slots straight into the translated storefront.
- Fixed: translations shipped inside the plugin never loaded, because nothing registered the languages folder. They load now, which also brings the bundled Greek translation to life. Language packs from WordPress.org still take precedence when they exist.
5.5.0 – 2026-08-30
- New (Pro): a “Where items appear” setting on each bundle. WooCommerce draws the add-to-cart form inside the product summary, which is about a third of the page: right for a price and a button, wrong for a bundle with a pool to pick from. On a 1440px window that left the picking grid 445px wide with 900px of empty page beside it. Choose “Below, across the full page” and the items take the full content width under the product details. Only the items move; the photo, title, price and description keep their row. The default is unchanged, so no existing bundle looks any different until you ask it to.
- Fixed: a build-a-box whose items did not exactly fill a row held empty columns open and squeezed the real cards to make room for them. One item in a wide row rendered at 255px with four phantom tracks beside it. Empty tracks now collapse and the cards that exist take the space. A row that was already full is untouched.
- Fixed: two option rows whose name, label and note ran together into the same text were treated as the same row, so the second silently disappeared into the first. A row named “AB” labelled “C” no longer collides with one named “A” labelled “BC”.
- Fixed: on shops running a lazy-loading plugin, the photo of a product chosen in a choice slot was replaced by the placeholder image a moment later. The loader was swapping its own stored address back over the picture the builder had just set. Every attribute such a loader reads now points at the chosen photo.
- Fixed: the translation template shipped with 543 fewer strings than the plugin actually contains, leaving most of the Pro half untranslatable, and told translators to report problems at an address that went nowhere. The template now covers the whole plugin and carries the right address.
5.4.0 – 2026-08-22
- New (Pro): card names. In the bundle editor’s Product cards section, a small pencil on every product and every variation sets a shorter name for its card in a build-a-box. Type it once and every box showing that product uses it; the real WooCommerce name stays on the product, in the cart, on orders and in emails. Clear the field and the real name returns.
- Improved (Pro): order summaries and emails now list a boxed bundle’s picks one per line. The chosen pack size gets its own line, and every selected item shows its name, its variation and its quantity, plain to read on a phone.
5.3.1 – 2026-08-22
- Improved (Pro): in a build-a-box, a card for one variation now leads with the variation itself. The flavour or size is the bold title with room for two lines, and the product’s name sits above it as a small line, so a wall of cards from one product no longer reads as the same name repeated. Nothing is shortened or renamed, and the cart still records the full product name.
- Fixed: on stores that load scripts late, as many speed and caching setups do, the page could start without its opening state. A build-a-box arrived with the fill grid fully awake before a size was chosen, steppers live and nothing dimmed. Every part of the page now takes care of its own start, however the theme or an optimiser schedules the scripts.
- New (Pro): tapping the fill grid before choosing a size now points you to the size chooser with a gentle pulse, instead of doing nothing.
- Fixed (Pro): a box with a single size described itself as a price range with the same figure at both ends. It now shows the one price.
5.3.0 – 2026-08-19
- New (Pro): a category offer can now leave products out. Under the slot’s categories the Builder shows a count line that opens into the category’s products: cross one off and it is never shown and never sold in that slot, while new products you give the category still join by themselves. Big categories get a finder box and a capped list, and exported bundles carry the crossed-off products to another site like the rest of the pool.
